Locative interviews

October 4th, 2005 by Emmet

An interesting aside that came up during our walk of the Pool was that of ‘locative interviews’; conversing with someone during a walk, and geotagging points of interest in the discussion.

Most digital audio interfaces are time based, running from beginning to end. If the subject of the recording is locative, changing and context-sensitive, perhaps a more relevant interface would represent the playhead of the audio as the trackpath on a map of a journey.

Maybe a future version of the tool could include locative sound recordings, for all the ‘armchair walkers’ and reverse psychogeographers out there.
